A co-worker brought in a treasure she found at a local estate sale.  A very old box of hand written recipe cards.  A few of us stood around today and oohed and aahed over them... and made a LOT of photocopies of the recipes we liked the most.

I copied a biscuit recipe as well as a few breads and some vegetable ones.  Things like this just thrill me.  The stains on the cards make it obvious which recipes became family favorites and I was excited to find that the tomato soup I made for dinner last night was almost EXACTLY the way her recipe (from Better Homes and Gardens, 1932) read.  Minus the dumplings of course.

A very beat up and very loved old box: Photobucket

The family must have really enjoyed this Cheese Souffle. Photobucket
